Shawna: great piece of writing on a fascinating subject. Thanks for putting it out there with great style. bg

Thanks for sharing this story. I think a lot of people don't realize how important it is to somehow relieve stress and get connected to nature. For me, taking long walks through the beautiful forrests near my hometown serves the same function. All the upbuilt office stress just falls off me and even half an hour leaves me refreshed and balanced, especially when my wife has the time to accompany me.

YOU CAN DO IT! When I started, I had no idea I'd be building enough garden to take over a city - I just did a little at a time and before I knew it, here I am.

Small things equal large accomplishments!

Best of luck!

Thank you for sharing this, Shawna! It's so inspirational!

Between two jobs, baseball, swimming, concerts...I have not dug in my garden once this year - in fact my husband hired someone to do our spring clean-up next week because we just can't get to it! Thanks for the motivation - I'm going to dig in this weekend!

What a wonderful story. I know first hand also what a life saver gardening can be, however, my experience is not nearly as extreme. Gardening has long been my number 1 stress reliever and offers a nearly instant recharge after a long and stressful day in a corporate setting. My husband says he could always tell when I had a bad day because a new section of lawn was torn up for a new garden bed. While I no longer work in corporate America, gardening is still a healthy diversion and I'm working to share the many benefits of gardening through my passion for growing edibles.
Thanks for sharing your story. It's inspiring.
